Probe — Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you use Probe, we collect:

• Phone number — for OTP-based authentication.
• Photos you submit — sent to our AI service for scene analysis. Probe stores the case images needed to revisit past analyses, including a compressed thumbnail and, when available, the uploaded source image.
• Analysis results — the text output of scene analyses (narrative, deductions, annotations, timeline) is stored to provide your history.

We do not collect email, contacts, location, or any device sensor data beyond the camera when you explicitly capture a photo.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Analyze scenes you photograph or upload using AI vision models.
• Store analysis results and associated case images so you can review past cases in your history.
• Authenticate your account via one-time SMS codes (Twilio Verify).
• Enforce daily usage limits (free tier: 3 analyses per day; paid plans available for higher limits).

We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising.

3. Data Storage & Security

Analysis text is stored in encrypted databases. Probe also stores case images associated with your history, including a compressed thumbnail and, when available, the uploaded source image in secure cloud storage. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device. All communication uses HTTPS.

4. Third-Party Services

• Twilio — SMS delivery for OTP verification. Twilio Privacy Policy.
• OpenRouter / OpenAI — AI vision model for scene analysis. Images are sent to the model API for processing. OpenRouter Privacy Policy.

5. Data Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app. This permanently removes all your analysis history and account data from our servers.

6. Children's Privacy

Probe is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
